Robbie Jean “Bobbie Jean” Hooten, 80, of Lake City, passed away Friday morning, January 12, 2018 at her home due to her ten year struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born in Mayport, Florida on January 18, 1937 to the late Holbrook and Mary Jones Singleton. She was a Homemaker most of her life and has lived in the Lake City area since 1995. She enjoyed scalloping in her spare time as well as fishing, dancing and listening to classic country music. She was a member of the Lakeview Church of Chirst and is preceded in death by two step-sons; Donald and Paul Hooten.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years; Billy Ray Hooten of Lake City; sons; Jasper Jones of Fort Worth, TX, Richard Holbrook (Pamela) of Easley, SC, David Jones (Karen) of Jacksonville, FL, Jeffery Jones (Kimberly) of Jacksonville, FL, and step-son, Raymond Hooten of Jacksonville, FL; daughters; Aline Marie DeGrove (Ronnie) of Jacksonville, Lisa Kathleen Grinstead (Scott) of Jacksonville, FL, and step-daughter, Teresa Marlene Scott (Jeffery) of Anselmo, NE; sister; May Kathleen Nigh (Carl) of Welaka, FL. Twenty-Four grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren also survive.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Bobbie Jean will be conducted on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. in the Tillotson Cemetery in Mayport, FL with Evangelist Carlton McPeak officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends on Monday evening, January 15, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
