Rebecca J. Winchester, 77 of Lake City, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Elwood City, Pennsylvania to the late Harry Clay and Helen Havens Bondurant. Mrs. Winchester had made her home in Lake City since 1988 having moved here from Chesapeke, Virginia. She was of the Episcopal faith and enjoyed watching NASCAR, reading, watching movies and soap operas and playing the slot machines. Mrs. Winchester was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Earl Leon Winchester, in 2014, one brother, Bobby Bondurant and one sister, Bettye Lou Wetzel.
Survivors include her children, Jennifer Chambers, Patrick Winchester, Catherine Jones (Gus) and Harriet Nims (Mike) all of Lake City; one brother, Bill Bondurant, Kissimmee; two sisters, Brenda Simaitis (Gene), Bowie, MD and Barbara Forquer, Martinsburg, WV; seven grandchildren, Ashley Cosner (Jason) and Katelyn Chambers both of Martinsburg, WV, Jessica Jones (Alex), Honolulu, Hawaii, Courtney Winchester, Brandon Winchester, Leon Jones and Cassie Mae Jones all of Lake City; five great grandchildren, Mackenzie Chambers, Martinsburg, WV, Isabella Jones and Charlotte Jones both of Honolulu, Hawaii and Braxton Winchester and Cain Winchester both of Lake City; a longtime cherished family friend, Tiffany Foerman, Lake City; and a host of cherished friends throughout her thirty years in Lake City also survive.
Memorial services will be conducted on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 5:00 PM in the Chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
