Rachel Rhea Stone, 96 of Wellborn, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018, at the Haven Suwannee Valley Hospice Care Center in Lake City. She was born in Eldorado, Illinois to the late Steve E. Roberts and Cora L. Dorris Roberts. Ms Stone first moved to Wellborn in 1988 from Jacksonville and had left Wellborn briefly for seven years having moved to Cairo, KY to assist with taking care of her mother. She was a member of Wellborn United Methodist Church in Wellborn and enjoyed being active with her church family. She volunteered for 10 years with the Shands at Lake Shore Hospital in Lake City with the “Pink Lady” auxiliary. Ms Stone enjoyed working in her yard and being with her family. She was preceded in death by two husbands, L.D. Clark in 1952 and J.V. Stone in 1990. Also preceding her were her four brothers, William D. Roberts, Carlos E. Roberts, Glenn D. Roberts and Donald T. Roberts.
Survivors include her son, Norman E. Clark (Cheryl), Wellborn; her sister, Dorothy Ellen Alvey, Cairo, KY; and two granddaughters, J. Lynn Clark, Lima, OH, and Delaneya Gayle Clark, Carmel, IN.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Wellborn United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Sherry Adams officiating. A private interment will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Lake City. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to either Wellborn United Methodist Church or to Haven Suwannee Valley Hospice Care Center.
