Q.A. “Sax” Saxon, 70 of Lake City, passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2018. He was born in Milan, Georgia to the late Henry and Virginia Dickey Saxon. He had made his home in Lake City since 1984 having moved here from North Dakota. Mr. Saxon was a veteran of the United States Air Force and he enjoyed golfing and fishing on the Ocklawaha River. He was a man who loved God, family and country. Mr. Saxon was a loving husband and father to his children. He was preceded in death by one brother, Henry Howard Saxon, in 2003.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Verna Stout Saxon, Lake City; one son, Jesse Vernon Reeser (Angelia), Panama City Beach, FL; one daughter, Michelle Stokes (Otto, Jr.), McKinney, TX; two brothers, Donald Saxon (Angie), Linden, NC and Ronald Saxon (Kim), Dunn, NC; one sister, Mary Frances Keyton (Ray), Fayetteville, NC; sister in law, Mary Ann Saxon, Fayetteville, NC; loving Momma Judi, grandchild; Cody Christian Garbett of McKinney, Tx., sisters and families; Marylou, Jesse and Family, Cindy, Skip and Family, Val and The Girls, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services for Mr. Saxon will be conducted at 10:00AM, Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Ronnie Saxon officiating. Interment will follow in the cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of GATEWAY-FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME, 3596 S US Hwy 441, Lake City, Fl., 32025.
