Clifton Mirl Stuart, 91, of Lake City, gently passed into heaven at dawn on Thursday, October 4, 2018 after an extended illness. Mirl was born on July 16, 1927 to the late Robert “Bob” B. Stuart and Abbie Tompkins Stuart.
Mr. Mirl was a veteran, farmer, City Comissioner, Co-Owner of the Red Barn Restaurant, salesman, P.R. for the North Florida Livestock Market and was also employed by Guerdon Industries. Mirl loved life, fishing and hunting.
Mirl is survived by his wife Tina, one daughter (the joy of his life), Abby Hale (Steve) and his granddaughters; Savannah and Callie Hale; step-son; Steve Ford (Brenda) and grandson, Jarrett Ford. Nephews; George Stuart, Jr., Donny Stuart, Robb Stuart, Robert “Bozo” Stuart and Greg Stuart along with his nieces; Charity Stuart, Twyla Stuart and Vivien Ann “Dede” Koon also survive.
Visitation with the family will be held on Monday evening, October 8, 2018 from 5-7 P.M. at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Celebration of life services will be conducted on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 2 P.M. in the chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
