It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Christine “Murray” Eddings after her long, hard battle with cancer on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at the young age of 61.
Mary Chris was born in Midland, MI on November 16, 1956 to her parents, Thomas and Dorcas Bellotte. Ms. Eddings was employed as the Nutritional Supervisor at Shands at Lake Shore before having to resign due to her illness. She spent most of her adult life in Lake City, FL before moving to Winter Haven, FL to spend the last few months of her life.
If you were blessed enough to know Mary Chris, you know that she was a strong, independent woman that loved her kids and grandbabies with everything she had. She had a passion for photography and there wasn’t a tree out there that she didn’t fall in love with. She loved the Lord with all of her heart and shared her testimony of what God had done for her with everyone. She was a very hard worker until her illness prevented her from working. Mary Chris was non-judgmental and always tried to find the good in everybody. She was definitely an angel on Earth just like she is in Heaven now.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Alicia Thompson and Lindsay Eddings, as well as her son-in-law’s, Melvin Thompson and Steven Green. She will also be lovingly remembered as the “Best Gammy Ever” by her grandbabies, Gavyn, Kaidance and Adalyn. She is also survived by her mom, Dorcas E. Bellotte; her sister, Gloria (Andy) Hollers; her brothers, Robert (Vicki) Bellotte and Thomas (Riva) Bellotte; numerous nieces and nephews; and countless other friends that she considered family. She was preceded in death by her dad, Thomas W. Bellotte and her sister, Corrine E. Buse.
It was Mary Chris’ wishes to be cremated, so her Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service from 10=11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
