Ms. Lorena L. Davis, 69, of Edison, GA, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday evening, October 11, 2018 after an extended illness. She was born in Poplarville, Mississippi on May 1, 1949 to the late Richard Monroe Vaughan and Lorena Lee Vaughan. She at an early age, accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior and was baptized in the Catahoula Creek in June of 1959. She started her work career with Southern Bell in 1968, in Decatur, GA, working and retiring in 2000 with then Bell South out of Jacksonville, FL. She enjoyed giving hugs, visiting, talking on the phone, mail and library time, reading, writing, crocheting, karaoke music, praying and sending cards to family and friends. Lorena is preceded in death by her two husbands, Floyd Glenn James, Jr. and Kenneth Gerald Davis.
She is survived by her fiancé/companion; Walter B. Sellers of Edison, GA; brother; James Vaughan (Brenda) of Pangburn, Arkansas and sister; Sissie Bell (Danny) of Pangburn, Arkansas. Numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, nephews, family members and friends also survive.
Graveside funeral services for Ms. Lorena will be conducted on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Tyre officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 P.M. (one hour prior to the services) at the graveside.
