Mr. Emory Lamar Boozer, 77 of Lake City, passed away early Sunday morning, July 16, 2017, at the Lake City Medical Center after a sudden illness. He was born in Alachua County on February 19, 1940 to the late John David Boozer and Cora Knowles Boozer. He was a board member of the Columbia County Resources "Columbia County Fair Board" for 30+ years as well as a Volunteer Fireman for over 20 years for the Lake City Fire Department. He also owned and operated Boozer Heating and Air since 1979, where he took pride in his work and where he was known to be a work-a-holic. He also loved to tell a good joke.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years: Pat Boozer of Lake City; his sons; David Boozer (Lonnie) of Lake City and their children, Aminda Lyn Davis (Brian) of Kentucky and April Skinner of Locanto, FL.; Dwight Boozer of Lake City and his children, William Jakob Boozer (Marilee) of Lake City, Joshua Luke Boozer of Lake City, and Julie Renee Boozer of Lake City; daughter; Wanda Thearl (Norman) of Lake City and their son Brandon Michael Thomas of Lake City; great-grandchildren, Ian Scott Davis of Kentucky, Brandon Michael Thomas Jr. of Lake City, Amelia Boozer and Leilah Boozer both of Lake City, Taylee Stafford of Lake City, Ashlyn Stafford of Lake City, Zander Burkett of Locanto, FL. along with many extended family and friends also survive.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Boozer will be conducted on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 11 A.M. in High Springs Cemetery. Interment will follow. The Family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M. on Tuesday evening, July 18, 2017 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be considered and made to the Gideons International-Lake City Camp, P.O. Box, 1805, Lake City, FL. 32056.
