Johnnie Edward Walker, 85 of Fort White, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2019, at his daughters home in Fort White. He was born in White Springs, Florida to the late A.J. Walker and Clara Elizabeth Lee Walker. Mr. Walker had made his home between Fort White and Raiford, Florida since 1973. He served in the United States Navy and was in Law Enforcement for many years. Mr. Walker served as a Deputy Sherriff in both Columbia and Gilchrist Counties and also served as an Investigator with the Belle Glade Police Department in Belle Glade, Florida. He enjoyed playing his guitar, fishing and gardening. He was preceded in death by three siblings, Mary Kimble, Jerry Walker and Jeffery Walker.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Walker, Raiford, FL; two children, John Edward Walker, Jr. (Carolyn Quillin), Lake City and Ramona O. Walker, Fort White; three brothers, Joseph Walker (Mary Jo), Lake City, Jimmie Walker (Lajoy), Lake City, Bobby Walker (Jene), Richmond, VA; three sisters, Jeannie Benefield, Monroe, GA, Shirley Wofford (J.C.), Covington, GA and Betty Pelham (Willford), Orlando, FL; four grandchildren, Rita Compton, Ocala, Johnnie E. Walker, III (Christina), Fort White, Nikita Whited, Tallahassee and Christopher Alan Walker, Fort White; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family also survive.
Graveside memorial services will be conducted on Monday, December 9, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Prospect Cemetery in Hamilton County, Florida. Interment will follow. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the cemetery from 1:00 PM till 2:00 PM.
