Mr. Jack McArthur Davis, 75, of Lake City, passed away at the Shands Lake Shore Medical Center in Lake City after a sudden illness. He was born in Waycross, Georgia on March 7, 1944 to the late Walton Oliver and Grace Ellen Marie Ahl Davis. He was a carpenter by trade and made Lake City his home most of his adult life. Mr. Davis was a Navy Veteran and of the Methodist Faith. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing with his grandchildren, collecting knives and telling jokes. He was always known to be picking at anyone at any time. He is preceded in death by his wife of forty-five years, Betty Davis; brother, Daniel “Danny” Davis; sisters, Jo Frances Anderson and Mary Elizabeth Davis; two infant sisters and one brother.
He is survived by his son, Michael Hadden (Rosie) of Lake City; daughter, Kim Poultney (George) of Lake City; sisters, Marie Dryden (Bill) of Lake City, Bonnie Thomas (Ed) of Lake City and Patty Ann King (Joseph) of Blairsville, GA; sister-in-law, Shirley Davis and brother-in-law, Aaron Anderson. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Joseph, Brittney, Lindsey, Jessica, Jennifer, Jana, Shytana, Shawna, Sherri and Christopher along with numerous great-grandchildren also survive.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Davis will be held on Monday, August 26, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Interment will follow.
