Homer Joseph Huchingson

Mr. Homer Joseph Huchingson, 81, of Live Oak, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, October 28, 2017 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born in Lake City on January 16, 1936 to the late John C. and Mary Ellis Huchingson; he was a lifelong resident of the North Florida area and was a telephone repair man & installer by trade; in his spare time, enjoyed farming, tractor work and working with his hands. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife; Brenda Croft of Live Oak;  sons; Joe Huchingson (Lisa) of Lake City and Donnie Croft (Shanae) and family of Live Oak; daughter; Kelli Ratliff (Rick) and family of Live Oak; sisters; Jewel Pueschel of Lake City and Vennie Yates of Atlanta, GA. Five grandchildren; Devin Huchingson, Taylor Croft, Dalton Croft, Caileigh Croft and Kyler Croft also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Huchingson will be conducted on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at 11 A.M. in the chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Chuck Brannaka officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-11 A.M. (one hour prior to the services) at the funeral home. In lieu of flower, the family requests donations to be considered to Haven Hospice, 6037 W Us Highway 90, Lake City, FL 32055.
