Mrs. Geraldine L. Snyder, 83, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, November 15, 2017 at the Haven Suwannee Valley Hospice Care Center after an extended illness. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 25, 1934 to the late Stanley and Mary Rulka Soberaj. She has lived in Lake City since 2008, moving here from Chicago. She was a very strong and independent person and always the one to hold things together. She was of the Catholic Faith and is preceded in death by three sisters.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years; Richard Snyder of Lake City and her son Glenn Snyder of Lake City. There are family members, nieces and nephews still living in Chicago.
Memorial services for Mrs. Snyder will be conducted on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Father Robert Trujillo, Pastor of Epiphany Catholic Church, officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, November 17, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
