Gerald Wayne Lee, 66, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, August 28, 2017 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born in Lake City on July 14, 1951 to Myra Douglas Lee and the late William Pafford “Champ” Lee. He has made Lake City his home for all of his life and was of the Christian faith. He was a nature lover, and in his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, fishing and college football, especially the Florida Gators. In his spare time he also loved to play golf and loved all kids. He will be remembered for comedy and his wicked sense of humor. He is preceded in death by his brother; Kenneth Lee.
He is survived by his loving wife who was his heart; Linda Lee of Lake City; adopted children; Stephen and April Lee; step-son; Christopher Thompson (Teresa) of Lake City; step-daughter; Kathleen Thompson of Jacksonville; sister-in-law; Barbara Lee and his sister; Cynthia Lee along with eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
Memorial services for Wayne will be conducted on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 2 P.M. in the chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Ogburn, Pastor of Watertown Congregational Methodist Church officiating. .
