Edward Taylor, 90 of Lake City, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the Shands at Live Oak Medical Center in Live Oak. He was born on April 5, 1928 to the late Clifton E. and Lessie Register Taylor, and was a lifelong resident of Lake City. Mr. Taylor was a veteran of the United States Army serving during Korea and he retired from the Florida Department of Transportation in 1987 with 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by five brothers; Carlton Taylor, Dewey Taylor, Jake Taylor, Frank Taylor and Witt Taylor; three sisters, Bobbie Jean Tomlinson, Ruth Lang and Daisey Grady; one daughter, Glenda Dale Shaw; one grandchild, Stanley Leroy Shaw and one step son, James Edmund Deese.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years this coming June, Mary Taylor, Lake City, two sons, Charles Taylor (Katie C.) and Raymond Taylor both of Wellborn; one sister, Margaret Waters, Lake City; one brother, Robert Taylor (Sue), Wellborn; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 3:00 PM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Mr. Dwight Law and Pastor Dale Brannon officiating. Interment will follow at Fellowship Baptist Cemetery in Suwannee County. Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 6-8:00 PM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
