Mrs. Dolores Hoots Tyre, 72, of Lake City, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2019, with her family by her side. She was born in Homestead, Florida to the late Furman Turner Hoots and Mary Sue Moore Hoots. Mrs. Tyre had made Lake City her home since 1992 having lived in numerous places while serving in the ministry with her husband. She was a graduate of South Dade High School class of 1965. Mrs. Tyre was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and being there for those in need. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Jack and Turner Lewis Hoots.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Rev. Jerry Tyre, Lake City; her children, Renee Tyre, Beverly Hills, Florida, Lynn Tyre Delker (Blayne), Chattanooga, TN and J.D. Tyre (Kate), Fort White; two brothers, Herman Hoots (Vickie), Myrtle Beach, SC and Larry Hoots (Wanda), Palm Bay, FL;
one aunt, Wilma Moore, East Flat Rock, NC; three grandchildren, Jonathon Palumbo, Beverly Hills, FL, Trey and Sophie Tyre, Fort White; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, February 11, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ron Jones officiating.Interment will follow at Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service from 10-11:00 AM on Monday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery Fund at 2509 224th St., Lake City, FL 32024.
