Catherine Marie Baugh Albury

Catherine Marie “Cathy” Baugh Albury, 72 of Lake City, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at the Haven Suwannee Valley Hospice Care Center in Lake City.  She was born in Winter Haven, Florida, the oldest of four daughters, to the late Joseph David Baugh and Huldah Marie Gill Baugh.  Ms Albury made her home in Lake City since 1971 having moved here from Winter Haven.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake City and enjoyed being active in the church choir.  Ms Albury was an educator for 39 years mainly in Baker County, Florida, and retired in 2008 from the Baker County Middle School.  She was an avid reader and had a love for animals.  Ms Albury volunteered for many years with youth sports umpiring and coaching.  Her giving spirit and love for others was shown to all who knew her. 

Survivors include her three children, Mychelle Albury, Lake City, Eston F. Albury, III (Darcy), Savannah, GA and Joseph D. Albury, Ft. Walton Beach, FL; three sisters, Betsy King (Richard), Snellville, GA, Susan Norville (Warren), Mountain Brook, AL and Alice Meador (Chip), Winter Haven, FL; eight grandchildren, Ashlei Albury, Brandon Owens, Kyrsten Owens, Christian Owens, Eston Albury IV, Jordan Albury, Delaney Albury and Maddox Albury; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 4:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Lake City with Rev. Robert Bass, officiating.  Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.  Graveside services with interment will be conducted on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 10:00 AM at the Evergreen Cemetery in Davenport, FL.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Haven Suwannee Valley Hospice Care Center or to the First Baptist Church of Lake City, Capital Improvements.
