Mr. Bobby Lee Strawder, 73, of Lake City, was born at home on September 11, 1944 in Hahira, GA a town north of Valdosta, Georgia on the family farm of Charlie Shepherd and Cora (Bradford) Strawder. He died at his home on June 4, 2018. He worked at the Areo Corporation for eleven years and PCS for thirty-four years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a 32nd degree mason. He also was a trustee at the Oak Grove Baptist Church for many years. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Mack Strawder, Mark Strawder, Mildred Smith, Loran Strawder and June Strawder.
He is survived by his wife of twenty years; Sherrill; and his sons; John and Randy; step-children; Melodie (Tony) McGuire of Sioux City, Iowa, Sherie (Rick) Johnson of Ft. Lewis, Washington and Kyle (Erin) Schwaderer of Spartanburg, North Carolina; grandchildren; John, Casey and Jacob Strawder; Kristen Richey Scott, Alexis and Dexter Johnson, Mason Dixon Schwaderer, Jefferson Davis Schwaderer and Dietsle Hudson Schwaderer. Great-granddaughters; Opal Adah Scott and Rayna Camari Page; along with several nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial services with Masonic Rites will be conducted on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home, with Pastor Beaver Twist officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations please be considered to the Haven-Suwannee Valley Hospice Care Center.
