Arthur W Lowes

Arthur W. Lowes, Jr., 67 of Lake City, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at the North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville.  He was born in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Arthur W. Lowes, Sr. and Margaret Dalton Lowes.  Mr. Lowes served in the United States Navy for 24 years and retired as a Navy recruiter.  He lived in Lake City from 1979-1982 and served as the Navy recruiter and then relocated back to Lake City in 1993 following his retirement while stationed at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois.  Mr. Lowes also worked for 19 years with Brown-Vann in Lake City in the paint dept.  He was a member of the American Legion Post #57 of Lake City and served five years as the Post Commander.  Mr. Lowes enjoyed pheasant hunting and fishing.  He was of the Catholic faith and a member of Epiphany Catholic Church. 

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Linda S. Lowes, one son, Jeffrey Lowes (Richanna Gonzales), one daughter, Jennifer Lowes (Jimmy Wyers), all of Lake City;  one brother, Robert Lowes and one sister, Kathleen Lowes, both of St. Peters, MO; numerous extended family and friends as well as his American Legion Post #57 of Lake City family.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the American Legion Post #57 in Lake City.
