July 17, 1942 ~ March 5, 2024 (age 81) 81 Years Old

William Anderson Obituary

William Randal "Randy" Anderson, Sr., 81, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at the Haven Hospice - Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City, after and extended illness. He was born on July 17, 1942 in Georgia to the late Ottis William "Sam" Anderson and Minnie Lee O'Steen Anderson. He was a life-long Florida resident and enjoyed fast cars, drag racing and built & raced his own cars in his younger days. He was also a huge fan of NASCAR legend, Richard Petty and all things MOPAR.

 

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having been stationed in Korea, England & Montana. He retired from PCS in 2004, having worked in the laboratories at both Swift Creek and Suwannee River Mines. He spent his time outdoors and loved his grandchildren and seeing them have fun more than anything else in life. He was the World's Best Grandaddy and will be missed and remembered forever.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Kathryn Anderson Smith & Barbara Anderson Bonds.

 

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Ward Anderson; daughter, Kimberly Anderson Morris (Rob) and their children, Logan, Jordan & Dalton Morris and Racquel Morris Perry; and his son, William Randal Anderson, Jr. (Bonnie) and their children, Amanda Johnson, Jessica Brooks, William Anderson, III, Alyssa Cappadony and Felicity Anderson. Sisters, Sharon Musgrove and Betty Jean Brinkley along with eleven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

 

The family would like to give a special thanks to the Haven Hospice Staff for all of the care that they provided for Mr. Anderson and his family.
