Elizabeth Michelle “Liz” Johnson Lavoie, 46 of Lake City, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024, at the Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City. Liz was born in Lake City and was a graduate of Columbia High School class of 1996. She had previously worked with the Florida Department of Corrections at R.M.C. in Lake Butler, the Interventional Cardiologist Group in Lake City and the Cancer Center of Lake City. Liz was a lifelong resident of the Lake City and Lulu communities. She was of the Baptist faith and was attending the City Church when she was able. Liz loved nothing more than spending time with her son, family and her many friends who were family to her.
Survivors include her son, John Robert Lavoie, Lake City; her father, Mitchell V. “Sugarfoot” Johnson (Arlene), Lavale, MD; her mother, Sandra K. Johnson, Lake City; her sister, Margaret Beckelheimer, High Springs; two nephews, Ryan Beckelheimer and Dustin Beckelheimer both of High Springs; her mother in love, Paulette Johnson, Lake City; three step brothers, Toby, Jody and Andy Witt all of Lake City; her lifelong friends known as “The Herd”; her son John Robert’s father, Robbie Lavoie, Lake City; several uncles and aunts.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 12:00 Noon at the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Travis Buchanan of City Church officiating. Interment will follow at the New Zion Cemetery in Union County. A time of visitation with the family will be 2 hours prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at the funeral home on Saturday. Liz requested for those attending the funeral to please dress casual.
