Wesley J. King, 76, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2016. Wesley was born in Sterling, Illinois to the late Herman C. and Edna [LeFevre] King and has lived in Lake City since 1977. He served our country faithfully with the United States Navy and during the Vietnam War he was a Presidential Aide at the White House where he served as a Navy Corpsman under Presidents Lyndon B. Johnson and Richard Nixon. Mr. Wesley was a loving husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather who enjoyed watching Gator football and tinkering in his garage. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Pete King.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 55 years, Danis King; son, Wesley S. (Jennifer) King; daughter, Jana R. (James) Hurst all of Lake City, FL; grandchildren, Danny (Kristen), Keli (Hoss), Brandon (Emi), and Jimbo (Deb); Bethany (Danny); 7 great grandchildren; sister, Barbara (John) Balk of Dixon, IL; brother in law, Daniel Gross (Betty):special friends, Neal & Nancy Nydam, Scott Nydam, Ryan and Debbie Nydam, Gary Wheelock, Doug Webber, and Jodi James.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 12th, 2016 in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
