Susan Louise Brown

April 22, 1953 ~ October 5, 2017 (age 64) 64 Years Old

Susan Louise Brown, 64 of Lake City, passed away on October 5th at the home of her oldest daughter, Jean Frost.  She was born the fourth child of five, to the late Robert White Fisher and Martha Wacaser Fisher, in Memphis, Tennessee.  Mrs. Brown was raised in Pensacola, Florida and had made her home in Lake City for the past 20 years having moved here from North Fort Myers, Florida. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse and retired after 20 years and was also a former small business owner here in Lake City.  Mrs. Brown was of the Methodist faith and a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist church in Lake City.  She enjoyed going on cruises to the Caribbean, fishing, dancing, playing Ms. PacMan, raising and training her English Bulldogs, Butler and Bella and she was an avid Georgia Bulldog Fan.  However, nothing was more important to her than spending quality time with family and friends.  Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by one brother, James Fisher, one sister, Margie Parker and her father-in-law, Wyley Brown.

 

Survivors include her husband of 38 years come this November, Michael D. Brown, Lake City; one son, Shane Starling, Pensacola, FL; three daughters, Jean Frost (Keith) & Carey McKenney, both of Lake City and Christi Starr (Luke), Mettawa, IL; one brother Bill Fisher (Linda), Blue Springs, AL; one sister, Jackie Pugh (Randy), Jefferson City, MO; nine grandchildren, Mandi Frost (Fiancé Tim Dowell), Dallas, NC, LeaAnne Wade (Kenny), Opp, AL, Courtney Frost, Pensacola, FL, Hunter McKenney, Jacksonville, FL, Mason, Gavin & MaKenna Acheson as well as Tyler & Annika Starr all of Mettawa, IL; one great grandson, Jaxton Dowell, Dallas, NC; Mother-in-law, Melba Brown, Columbus, GA; 2 Brothers-in-law, Wyley Brown, JR (Patti), Salem, AL and Kenneth Brown (Ashley), Fortson, GA: long time Best Friends, Jon & Sheila Kurpil, Crestview, FL; and their two sons, Kyle & Cody Kurpil both of Crestview, FL; and a host of nieces and nephews. 

 

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dusty Bailey and Rev. Jay Watson officiating.  Visitation with the family will be from 5-7:00 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home.  Private family graveside services will be conducted at Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus, Georgia under the direction of McMullen Funeral Home in Columbus, Georgia.
