Stella M Bennett

Stella M. Bennett, 85 of Lake City, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at the Lake City Medical Center.  She was born in Thomasville, Georgia to the late Ernest R. and Laura McKelvin Sanders.  Mrs. Bennett had made her home in North Florida for the past 50 years having moved here from Adel, Georgia.  She was a longtime and active member of the Beachville Advent Christian Church in the Beachville community.  Mrs. Bennett enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, shopping and gardening.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Lloyd H. Bennett in 2008; five brothers, Ernest Elmer Junior Sanders, Frank Sanders, Richard Sanders, J.L. Sanders and Donald Sanders; and one great-grandson, Tanner Able Robert Bennett. 

Survivors include her five children, Harold Bennett (Toni), Lake City, Teresa Goff (Thelton), Middleburg, Diane Blanton (Tommy), Lake City, Susan Sullivan (David), Gainesville and Norma Bennett, Oveido; one brother, Eugene Sanders (Carolyn), Moultrie, GA; two sisters, Betty Love (Bill) and Eva Jenkins, both of Tallahassee; ten grandchildren, Michael Bennett (Catherine), Brian Bennett (Crystal), Thelton Goff, Josh Goff (Misty), Bronson Sullivan (Mikhael), Trent Sullivan (Shaina), Slate Sullivan, Eric Greenwald (Kendra), Hunter Greenwald and Tahyler Roth (Bryan); and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Beachville Advent Christian Church with Pastor Bruce Arnold officiating.  Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Lake City.  Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 5-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
