Mrs. Shirley Wynette Norris, 68 of Lake City, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City. She was a lifelong resident of Lake City and was the eighth of nine children to the late Jim and Lizzie Feagle Rowe. Mrs. Norris was currently attending Evangel Church of God and when she was younger she attended the North Lake City Church of God. She enjoyed spending time with her family and growing flowers. Mrs. Norris was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Horace, Charlie, Wilbur and J.C. Rowe.
Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Jerry Norris, Lake City; one son, Thomas Sherrod (Tammy), Starke; one daughter, Mary Petty (Richard), Lake City; one brother, Allen Rowe (Peggy), Lake City; one sister, Pat Bundy, Lake City; four sisters-in-law, Otha Rowe, Tifton, GA, Annette Johnson, Lake City, Pat Rowe, Florida and Laura Rowe, Lake City; eight grandchildren, Christy Powell (Marlin), Folkston, GA, Kurtis Norris, Lake City, Matthew Sherrod, Thomasville, GA, Lizzie Sherrod, Starke, David and Destiny Petty both of Lake City and Mandy and Becky Melton both of Starke; and three great-grandchildren, Brody, Bailey and Bryer Powell all of Folkston, GA.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Evangel Church of God with Pastor John R. Hathaway officiating. Interment will follow at Scott Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5-7:00 PM, Friday evening at the funeral home.
