Mrs. Sharon L. Harden, 79, of Old Town, passed away peacefully on Friday afternoon, February 9, 2018 at the Haven-Suwannee Valley Hospice Care Center after an extended illness. She was born to the late Paul and Virginia Belle Kelly on July 13, 1938 in Lebanon, Ohio, and has made Florida her home for the last several years, spending most of that time in the Homestead area before moving to Old town in 2012. She was a secretary with the Homestead Air Force Base for many years and in her spare time, enjoyed quilting and cooking. She was also a big animal lover and loved to make dolls.
She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years; Roger Harden; sons; Michael Demick of Virginia; Chip Harden (Janie) of Texas and Bart Harden of Melbourne; daughters; Terry Hines; Teresa Harden Lowe (Mark) of Homestead and Sharon Harden Miller of Ocala. Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.
Memorial services for Mrs. Harden will be conducted on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Tyre officiating. Interment will take place at a later date at the Tallahassee National Cemetery.
