Sara H Minkley

Mrs. Sara H. Minkley, 85, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at the Suwannee Valley Care Center (Haven Hospice). Sara was the daughter of the late Edward and Sallie [Chambers] Hill and was born and raised in Lake City.  She attended Lake Lona Elementary and was a Columbia High School graduate, Class of 1949.  She retired from Southern Bell / BellSouth. Mrs. Sara was a loving mother and grandmother who cherished the time spent with her family.  She was strong in her faith, having accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior, and had attended Wesley Memorial UMC, Lake City & Pleasant Grove UMC, Lake City. She is preceded in death by her parents and her devoted husband of 37 years, Ernest “Ernie” Minkley (2011).

Survivors include her children, Ronnie (Tracy) Brannon of Lake City, FL, Nancy (Neal) Borden of The Villages, FL, Raymond (Linda) Minkley and Jane (Randy) Zippel both of Atlanta, GA,; 8 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and dear friends Carl and Jerry Sue Fatzinger.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 23, 2016, at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church with Pastor Dusty Bailey officiating. Visitation will be held at the church, one hour prior to services. (10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.) In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pleasant Grove Cemetery Fund, c/o Pleasant Grove UMC, 4709 SW S.R. 47, Lake City, Florida. 32024, or the Suwannee Valley Care Center (Haven Hospice) 6037 US Hwy 90 West, Lake City, Florida. 32055.
