Robert E Meade

Mr. Robert E. “Bob” Meade, 71 of Lake City, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2016 at the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in Gainesville.  He was born in Muncie, Indiana to the late Charles and Marie Buckley Meade.  Mr. Meade was a hardworking and successful business owner who was dedicated to his family and church, as well as being a devoted soldier for his country.  Brother “Bob” enjoyed going to auctions and meeting new people.  He was a man always willing to help those in need and thinking of others.  Brother “Bob” will always be remembered for his merry heart and smiling face as he served the Lord with all of his might.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joni Meade in 2006.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Cox Meade, Lake City; one daughter, Jenny Meade Combs (Willie), Taylor, FL; one son, Nathan Meade, Lake City; one sister, Sandy Gibson (Mike), Muncie, IN; two grandsons, Brody and Logan Combs; and one nephew, Mike Gibson, Jr., Muncie, IN.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 12:00 Noon at the Joy Explosion Church in Lake City with Rev. Billy White and Rev. Glenn Keen officiating.  Interment will follow with military honors at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the church from 11:00 to 12:00 Noon.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Joy Explosion Christian Academy at 3134 SW Pinemount Road, Lake City, FL 32024.
