Robert Daniel Magyari, 78, died on Friday, July 7, 2017, after a brief illness. He was born in Starke, Florida, to the late Andrew and Margaret Bennett Magyari. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who enjoyed spending time with family and friends and watching westerns, wrestling, football and car racing. His favorite past time was playing poker with family and the Florida Lottery. He was a long time resident of Bradford and Columbia Counties. He worked as a meat butcher at Setzer's Grocery and City Fish and Meat Market in Starke, Florida; and Sullivan's and Winn Dixie in Lake City. He was also employed by Park Theater, New Kingsley Beach, Dixie Lily, Columbia Concrete, and Faulkner Plumbing. He also operated his own store on State Road 47 in Lake City.
He is preceded in death by his brothers Paul Magyari, Glenn Magyari, and William Thomas; and sisters, Linda Boone and Shirley Lammons. Survivors include his son, Daniel P. Magyari (Joanne), Jackson, Tennessee, and daughter Pauline Albright (David) of Lake City; friend and ex-wife Katherine Myers Munden of Tennessee; and brother, Frederick Magyari (Linda) of Starke, Florida; and sisters, Barbara Thomas of Lake Butler, Florida, Sandra Wilkerson (David) of Lawtey, Florida, and Phyllis Shull (Dave) of Lake City, Florida; 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Cremation is under the direction of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Per his wishes, no memorial service will be held.
