Robert Mitchell “Mitch” Jones, 41 of Lake City, passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at his home. He was a lifelong resident of Lake City and was a graduate of Columbia High School class of 1995. Mr. Jones was a former employee of All-Tech Communications of Lake City for several years. Mitch had several hobbies such as fishing, going to the river, woodworking, motorcycle and four wheeler riding and a real interest in restoring family heirlooms. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Betty Gaye Jones, his maternal grandfather, Stafford Brannon and his paternal aunt, Cindy Kavanagh.
Survivors include one son, Dalton Jones, Lake City; one daughter, Chelsey Jones, Lake City; father, Richard Jones (Linda Green); mother, Lynda Brannon Cauley (Mun “Butch”); brother, Marc Allen Jones (Samantha Mcleod) all of Lake City; paternal grandfather, Jack A. Jones (Ruby), Meadows of Dan, VA; maternal grandmother, Betty McNeal Brannon, Lake City; one nephew, Justin Braden, Lake City; maternal aunts and uncles, Tony Brannon and Teresa Brannon both of Lake City and Melodie Tessier (George), Live Oak; and the mother of his children, Pamela Jones, Lake City.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Dale Brannon officiating. Interment will follow at Fellowship Baptist Cemetery, Suwannee County, FL. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening from 5-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
