Paxton Sullivan, 85 of Branford, passed away at his home on Thursday, November 16, 2017. He was born in Branford to the late Worth and Cora Miller Sullivan. Mr. Sullivan was a retired veteran of the United States Navy with 20 years of active service and 10 years of service in the Fleet Reserve. During his service in the Navy he served on several ships during Korea, Vietnam and the Cuban Missile Crisis. Mr. Sullivan was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Mayo and he was also a member of Free and Accepted Masons. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and hunting with his granddaughter. Mr. Sullivan was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Johnson Sullivan in 2006; one brother, Ronald Sullivan; and three sisters, Exie Frasier, Flo Bizaillon and Bess Johnston.
Survivors include his wife, Irma Bowers Sullivan, Branford; his daughter, Lynn Chancey (Ben), Lake City; one sister, Odessa Moses, Branford; one granddaughter, Andrea Murrill, (D.J.), Lake City; one great granddaughter, Mia Murrill, Lake City and 2 additional great grandchildren in May 2018; 5 step children and 6 step grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Kenny Sullivan, of First Assembly of God Church in Mayo, officiating. Visitation with the family will be Sunday evening from 5-7:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Haven Suwannee Valley Hospice Care Center at 6037 W US Hwy 90, Lake City, FL 32055.
