Mun "Butch" Wildon Cauley, Jr.

Mun Wildon “Butch” Cauley, Jr., 70 of Lake City, passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2017 at the Lake City Veterans Affairs Medical Center.  He was born in Eustis, Florida to the late Mun Wildon Cauley, Sr. and Virginia Mae Cason Cook.  Mr. Cauley had been a resident of Lake City for the past 20 years.  He was a veteran of the United States Army having served 20 years.  During his service in the Army, Mr. Cauley served in Korea,  7 ½ years in Vietnam and Granada as a Commander in the Green Berets.  Mr. Cauley was a member of the VFW Post 2206 in Lake City.  He was an avid golfer, enjoyed gardening and yard work, and taking care of his fish pond.  Mr. Cauley was preceded in death by his brother, Benny Cauley and one son, Robert Mitchell “Mitch” Jones.

 

Survivors include his wife, Lynda Brannon Cauley, Lake City; two sons, Mun Wildon “Trey” Cauley, III and Marc Jones, both of Lake City; one daughter, Elizabeth “Lisa” Martin, Lake City; one sister, Patricia Cauley, Ormond Beach; and three grandchildren.

 

Memorial services will be conducted on Monday, November 13, 2017 at 4:00 PM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel.  Military honors will be rendered at the conclusion of the service.  Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service on Monday from 3-4:00 PM.  Flowers are welcome and in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice
