Mary C. Mimbs, 90 of Lake City, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2017, at the Haven Suwannee Valley Hospice Care Center. She was born January 31, 1927 to the late Rev. Clarence L. and Agnes Roberts Clements, and was a lifelong resident of Lake City. Mrs. Mimbs was of the Baptist faith and a longtime member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Lake City. She enjoyed reading, doing puzzles and visiting with her family and friends. Mrs. Mimbs was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Rev. Charles “Chuck” Mimbs; and her sister and brother in law, Shirley and Rev. Jay Wimberly.
Survivors include her three sons, Clarence “Skipper” Mimbs (Sharon), Lake City, Kenny Mimbs, Lake City and Charles Alton Mimbs (Carol), San Diego, CA; one daughter, Laura Norman (Eric); her brother, Rev. Ivan Clements (Louise), Lake City; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at 11:00 AM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Bro. Lewis Daniels and Bro. Brian Mimbs officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, US 441 North of Lake City. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service from 10-11:00 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 249 SE Mohawk Way, Lake City, FL 32025.
