Mark Douglas McCandless

Mark Douglas McCandless, 60, of Live Oak, passed away peacefully on February 3 at Haven Hospice after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Mark was born on September 9, 1957 in New Castle, PA, and moved to Florida when he was two.  He considered himself a true Floridian.  Mark worked briefly in construction, but truly loved his job as a long-distance truck driver. He was also a motorcycle enthusiast, and enjoyed many great motorcycle trips with his loving wife, Colleen.
 
Mark is survived by his wife Colleen McCandless, daughters Jessica McCandless of Port Orange, Ally McCandless of Palm Harbor, and Ariel Simmons of Live Oak, brothers Larry McCandless of Blairsville, GA, Richard McCandless of Deland, and Dave McCandless of New Castle, PA, and sister Joni Smith of Wartrace, TN.
 
A Celebration of Life will be held at the McCandless home (21134 68th St in Live Oak) on February 24th, beginning at 6 pm.  All friends and family are welcome.
