Mrs. Lola Jane Tyre, 83 of Dunnellon, Florida, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at the Isle Health and Rehabilitation Center in Fleming Island, FL. Mrs. Tyre was born in Columbia County, Florida to the late Leo and Edna Williams Snelgrove and had previously lived in Stuart and Palatka, Florida. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the North Oak Baptist Church in Citrus Springs, Florida. Mrs. Tyre was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Palatka and enjoyed cross stiching, traveling to blue grass festivals and was an avid reader. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Grady D. Tyre and her brother, Alton Snelgrove.
Survivors include two sons, Donald G. Tyre (Sandra) and Mitchell L. Tyre (Kristine) both of Dunnellon, FL; two daughters, Sharon Elaine Bond (Brad), St. Mary’s, GA and Anita Jayne Schaul (Michael), Green Cove Springs, FL; two brothers, Jack Snelgrove (Kathy), Ellijay, GA and Jimmy Snelgrove (Pat), West Palm Beach, FL; three sisters, Eva Timmons (Clyde), Bell, FL, Mary Mock (Melvin), Ft. White, FL and Ann Roach (John), Ft. Huachuca, AZ; fourteen grandchildren, Niky Wardlow (Randy), Chelle Townsend, Jeff Tyre (Katie) and Chris Townsend all of Crystal River, FL, Christopher Tyre (Chrissy), Cherokee, NC, Meagan Sorrels (Logan), Clyde, NC, Tommy Henrichs (Amanda), Farragut, TN, Jef Bond, Pensacola, FL, Adam Bond (Alicia), San Diego, CA, Aubrey Dyches (Ryan), Lutz, FL, Leo Cathcart (Amy), St. Augustine, FL, Sam Cathcart, Tampa, FL, Emily Schaul and Michael Schaul both of Green Cove Springs, FL; and twelve great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Columbia County, FL. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service from 10-11:00 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Haven Hospice at 4200 NW 90th Blvd., Gainesville, FL 32606.
