Linda Gayle (Hitson) Lee

Linda Gayle Hitson Lee, 70, of Lake City, Florida passed peacefully, Monday, October 5, 2015.  Born December 7, 1944, she was the youngest of nine children born in Jasper, Florida to the late Milton Chester and Clyde Cecil [Duncan] Hitson. Linda was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Dean Sandlin, Polly Ryan, Mary Jo Lee, Alice Barton and her youngest son, Greg D. Stanford. 

Survivors include her children, Angie White, Denver, CO., John Stanford, Lake City, FL, and Jenny (Bruce) Drawdy, Lake City, FL.; her sisters, Mildred Register, Ocala, FL, Madelyn Baucom, Live Oak, FL, Betty White, Pensacola, FL.; brother, Milton (Michelle) Hitson, Jasper, FL.; Linda was blessed with six wonderful grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jacklyn) White, Denver, CO, Nathaniel White, Denver, CO, David Stanford, Live Oak, FL, Hayley Stanford, Live Oak, FL, Wyatt Turbeville, Lake City, FL and Joel Drawdy, Lake City, FL.; numerous great grandchildren and a host of other family & friends.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., on Thursday, October 8, 2015, in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Mike Tatem officiating. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to services (2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.) at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Parkview Baptist Church, 268 NW Lake Jeffery Road, Lake City, Florida. 32055.
