Lani Monroe Shuck, of Lake City, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at the
University of Florida Shands South Tower in Gainesville. Lani was a son to the late George
Franklin and Florence Catherine Rice Shuck and had made his home in Lake City for
the past year moving here from Lake Mary, FL. Lani started his career as a pilot and
flight instructor, he flew Air Ambulance Services and eventfully Captain for Texas Air
Corporation. Lani’s second love was photography. He was a pilot above all else and he
carried a Gold status card as an instructor. Lani was currently working for Apple, Inc. as
a Technical Support Representative. He had many prayer warriors at Christ Central in
Lake City. Lani was preceded in death by his mother, father, grand mother,
brother-in-law and his nephew.
Survivors include his brother, Tauni Lea Shuck, Melbourne; two sisters, Leilani L. Dagley
(Douglas), Lake City and Luana Lee Terry, Melbourne; three nephews, Nick Shuck,
Melbourne, Shannon Terry (Wendy), Merritt Island and Travis Scott Dagley (Kendal),
Cocoa Beach; four nieces, Tammi Rae Johns (Lonnie), Lake City, Stephanie Terry,
Satellite Beach, Kera (Nick) Greenman, Ohio and Angela (Mike) Allen, Missouri; four great nephews, Joshua Dagley, USMC, Deltona, Zachary Dagley,
USMC, Deltona, Heart Dagley, Cocoa Beach and Tre’ Johns, Lake City; and eight great
nieces, Hannah Terry, Merritt Island, Angel Shaw and Shaina Johnson both of Lake City, Kaylee and Courtney Allen and Taylor, Emma and Gabby Greenman.
Local Funeral Services for Mr. Shuck will be conducted on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at
7:00 pm in the Chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Lonnie Johns
officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 5-7:00p.m., 2 hours prior to the service
on Thursday. Funeral Services in Melbourne will be Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the
Discover Life Church location 3550 W. Eau Gallie Blvd. Melbourne, FL. The viewing with
the family will be 10-11a.m. followed by Services at 11:00a.m. with Pastor Lonnie Johns
officiating. Interment will follow at Florida Memorial Gardens, 5950 US #1, Rockledge,
FL. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the church from 10-
11a.m.
