Johnny Thomas Waldron, 74 of Lake City, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at the Lake City Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center. He was born in Lake City to the late MK and Beulah Thomas Waldron. Mr. Waldron was a 1959 graduate of Columbia High School where he lettered in football and was a proud Columbia Tiger. He then served in the United States Navy and he also graduated from the Lake City Community College. Mr. Waldron was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed fishing, sports and the Florida Gators. He was preceded in death by his 3 brothers, Robert, Wendell and Gene Waldron and 1 grandson, Charles Austin Flanders.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Thomas Waldron, Lake City; three sons, Thomas Shane Waldron (April), Columbus, GA, Greg Thomas, Lake City and Barry Thomas, Punta Gorda; four daughters, Scarlett Waldron Flanders, Brunswick, GA, Courtney Waldron Crews (James), Terri A. Anderson (Ken) and Jamie Stamper (Chris) all of Lake City; 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 10:00 AM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Veronica Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening from 5-7:00 pm at the funeral home
