John Denis Majoros

July 14, 1939 ~ October 31, 2017 (age 78) 78 Years Old

John Denis Majoros, 78 of Lake City, was called home to his Father in Heaven on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 with his wife, whom he lovingly called “the most beautiful woman in the word” at his side.  As a retired Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy, he resided in many places, most recently Lake City, Florida.  He was born on July 14, 1939 in Passaic, New Jersey to John Joseph Majoros and Louise Billy Majoros.  John was the eldest of three and big brother to Craig and Kristine.  He served in the Navy for 26 years, 13 years of his time serving was on board various aircraft carriers all over the world.  He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and attended the Price Creek Ward in Lake City.  John was lovingly know to all his grandchildren as “Papa”

 

John is survived and eternally loved by his wife of 47 years, Diane Gelewski Majoros, Lake City; two daughters, Elizabeth Morse (Dave) and Sarah Naylor (Jason) all of Lake City; his son, Evan Majoros (Alison Urmson), Williamson, GA.  He was blessed with 13 grandchildren, 2 great granddaughters and one more baby girl on the way.  Survivors also include his brother, Craig Majoros (Barbara), Crafstbury, VT; and his sister, Kristine Szuchyt (Edward), Live Oak, FL.

 

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 11:00 AM in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints, Price Creek Ward, on Old Country Club Road, Lake City, FL, with Bishop Don Little, Presiding.  Interment will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 5-7:00 PM at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Association or the Dementia Society of America in his name.
