James Lewis Armistead

Mr. James Lewis Armistead, 62 of Lake City, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Gainesville, Florida.  He was born in Miami, Florida and had made his home in Lake City for the past 3 years having moved here from Homosassa Springs, Florida.  Mr. Armistead attended the Christ Central Ministries Church of Lake City.  He enjoyed watching WWE wrestling with his son, fishing, building and flying model airplanes and building RC Cars with his children and grandchildren.  Mr. Armistead was preceded in death by one grandson, Jon-Ryan Nazworth and one nephew, Little Joe Avinger.

Survivors include his son, Jacob Lewis Armistead, Lake City; his daughter, Cassandra Cook (Lacey), Lake City; 16 grandchildren, Breanna Glass (Brent), Dalton Nazworth and Austin Voidanoff all of Lake City, Star Porter, Ft. White, Wendi Nickerson and Richard Nickerson both of Live Oak, Patrick Elliott and Daryn Elliott both of Lake City, Devin Elliot, Live Oak, Vince Nazworth Jr., West Palm Beach, Trevor Majzel, Wellborn, Kyle Rowe, Texas, Kassady Rowe, Lake City, Whitney Majzel and Chance Majzel both of Wellborn and Amerikus Davis, Wellborn; one niece, Michelle Smith, Branford and numerous, nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Monday, February 1, 2016 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  Interment will follow.  Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service from 2-2:45 at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
