Edgar L Redish

Edgar L. Redish reached his heavenly home in the early hours of Saturday, November 14, 2015 from his residence. Edgar born in Sparks, Ga, on February 23, 1926, was raised in Valdosta, Ga. by parents Lenora and Ralph Redish. Edgar and family then moved to Lake City, Fl. in 1953. Edgar was preceded in death by his son, Eddie Tim in 1988, and wife, Ann, of 64 years, in 2010, a brother Wilburn Redish, sister Dorothy DeLoach, and parents. He was a long time active member of Southside Baptist Church, until his health failed.. He was employed with I.T.T. Thompson (Metal Products) for 40 years, retiring as plant manager, as well as a veteran of WW 11, serving in the US Army. Edgar is survived by his daughter; Peggy Lewis (Frank); Granddaughter Priscilla Douglas-Bennett-Jaime; Angie Redish Williamson (Timmy); Grandsons: Timothy Todd Redish (Charlene) Frankie Lewis (Lisa) Great Granddaughters: Chloe Bennett, Skylar Redish Great Grandsons: Alden Jamie, Tucker Williamson, Bryson Zasada, and Parker Lewis; sister Elizabeth Salter (Dick) and many nieces and nephews. Edgar was a quiet man, but when he spoke you wanted to listen because he always had something important to say. He was down to earth and impressed with good works. He was always a gentle loving man. The family will receive friends 5pm – 7pm on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Gateway Forest Lawn Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at the Southside Baptist Church, Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at 2PM with Pastor Ralph Rodriguez and Pastor Herman Hampton. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, expressions of love can be made by donations to Southside Baptist Church building fund, 388 SE Baya Drive, Lake City, Fl 32025.
