Mr. Donald Phil Phillips, 70, of Lake City went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 02, 2015 at his residence after a long struggle with kidney failure. Born September 27, 1945 in Wausau, Florida to Homer and Lucille Phillips, Phil moved to Lake City in the early 60’s. As an electrician, he worked for Aero Corp and Naval Air Station in Jacksonville before retiring because of his health. Phil was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Lake City and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
Phil is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dixie Lee Riley Phillips; Son, Bobby Dwayne Phillips and his wife Terri Smith Phillips who gave them a beautiful granddaughter Breanna Maree (Bree) Phillips; brother, Bobby Joe Phillips (Margie Bourg); many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday, October 5, 2015 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Reverend Jerry Tyre officiating. Interment will follow. Visitation with the family will be held 1 hour before the service 2:00-3:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tough Enough to Wear Pink, P.O.
