My sympathies to Mr. Crandall’s family. He was always so much fun and so smart. I loved talking about history with him and his sense of humor. He was very much loved by so many.

I just wanted to take a minute to express my condolences to all the family. I had the privilege of meeting and being one of many nurses that cared for Mr. Bales while in the VAMC. He was such a blessing to talk with and care for. He never once complained about anything, and brought me such joy, reminding me how rewarding being a VA nurse can be. He could not express enough how much he loved his family, people, and most of all Jesus Christ! It gives me peace knowing he is with the Savior in Heaven. And to Mrs. Ernestine, it was a pleasure meeting you. You have a sweet and kind spirit within you. I thank Mr. Crandell Bales for his dedication and service to our great nation! My thoughts and prayers of comfort are with the family during this time of loss. It was my honor to serve him!

So sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Crandall I have known him for years and I loved his dry sense of humor. I know him and my Daddy are sitting on the banks in heaven fishing and telling stories. Love you Ernestine and thinking about you and your family.
