Clifford Wayne Hazelip, 85 of Lake City, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017 at the Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City. He was born the second child of five to the late George and Anna Riggs Hazelip. Mr. Hazelip made his home in the Lake City area since 2005 and moved here from Palm Beach County. He retired from National Steel and had also worked for the Boca Raton Police Dept. and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. Mr. Hazelip was a determined and loyal man who achieved every goal he set in his life. He was a licensed pilot since 1951, a certified scuba diver and a ham radio operator. Since 1999 he overcame many illnesses.
Survivors include his wife of over 40 years, Genevieve Hazelip, Lake City; his daughters, Christine Pogonovich, Branford, FL and Tammy Kay Moore (Rick), Avella, PA; his sons, Albert Dale Johns. Jr. (Betty), Riverview, FL, Gregory Alan Johns (Diane), Mount Washington, KY and Gary Andrew Johns, Wellsburg, WV; one brother, Richard Hazelip (Dee), Toronto, OH; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 3:00 in the chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be prior to the service from 2:00 pm to 2:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
