Claudette S Bertram

Claudette Bertram died peacefully at Suwannee Health and Rehabilitation Center on September 24, 2017 in Live Oak, FL. She was 82 years old.

Mrs. Bertram was born on March 14, 1935 in Jasper, FL, to her parents Claude and Mae Carter. She was raised in Jacksonville, FL; where she graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. She married Harry Bertram December 3, 1954 and moved to Glasgow, KY soon after.

The Bertrams moved back to Florida and settled in Lake City in 1971. Mrs. Bertram has been a longtime member of Parkview Baptist Church. During her working years, she worked for various state organizations and finally retired from HRS. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling with her husband and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey and Pennie Bertram; her daughter and son-in-law Lee Ann and Lamar Hires all of Lake City; three 3 grandchildren: Tanya Sikes (Will), Cody Bertram (Brandi), Jared Hires (Taylor); and four great-grandchildren: Taylor Sikes, Tanner Sikes, Jace Bertram, and Annaliese Bertram. She is also survived by her brother Sherwin Carter (Barbara) and sister Ann Carter. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harry Bertram.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Parkview Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Tatem officiating.  Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the church from 1-2:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Parkview Baptist Church, Building Fund, 268 NW Lake Jeffery Road, Lake City, FL 32055.
