Clara Hair Crews

Ms Clara Hair Crews, 60 of Lake City, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017 at Shands at the University of Florida in Gainesville. She was born in Madison County, Florida and had lived most of her life in Lake City. She was a graduate of Columbia High School class of 1975. Clara was involved in many charities and organizations in the Columbia County area. She volunteered at Relay for Life, Fins and Pins, Tough Enough to Wear Pink, Suwannee River Breast Cancer, and Team Mom for CHS football and basketball to name a few.  She was preceded in death by father, James L. "Jimmy" Hair Sr. and one sister, Blanche Ragans Green.

Survivors include her two sons, R. Bryant Crews, Tampa, FL and M. Blaine Crews, Lake City; her mother, Judy Lindsey Hair, Lake City; three brothers, Dwight B. Ragans, Live Oak, Clarence E. Edwards, Lake City and James L. "Skipper" Hair II (Crystal), Lake City; three sisters, Sibyl King (Randy), Tracie Hair and Jane Mieras (Jonathan) all of Lake City; her grand-daughter, Emmalyn Marsee-Crews, Lake City; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She is also survived by the grandmother of her sons, Beth Crews, Lake City. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Christ Central Ministries with Pastor Skipper Hair officiating. A memorial gathering with the family will be Friday evening, February 10, 2017 from 6-8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of sending flowers, the family requests a donation is made to Metastatic Breast Cancer Research at https://secure.metavivor.org/page/contribute/claracrews
