Mrs. Carolyn G. Estevez, 75 of Lake City, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Solaris Healthcare of Lake City. She was born in Miami, Florida to the late Mitchell and Anna Titman Sapp. Mrs. Estevez had made her home in Lake City since 1974 having moved here from Tampa. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, ceramic crafts and spending time with her children, grandchildren and family. Mrs. Estevez was of the Baptist faith and a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Yvonne McCormick, one grandson, Gavin McCormick and two sisters, Bonnie Norwood and Christina Hall.
Survivors include her husband, Alfonso Estevez, Lake City; two daughters, Kathy Kavanagh, Lake City and Diane Weeks (Joey), Tampa; three step sons, Johnny Estevez, Ricky Estevez and David Estevez all of Key West; one step daughter, Gloria Estevez, Key West; three brothers, Jim Sapp (Barbara) and Wayne Sapp (Judy) both of Lake Cityand Gordon Sapp (Kathy), Sarasota; two sisters, Pat Johnson, Wellborn and Bea Sapp, Lake City; five grandchildren, Stephanie Bunton, Lake City, Kim Free (Dustin), Estero, Kaleb McCormick (Christina), Brunswick, GA, Amber Rutkin (David), Land-O-Lakes and Joshua Weeks, Tampa; and eight great grandchildren, Austin Bunton, Brooklyn Bunton, Paityn McCormick, Kenady Rutkin, Jaxon Rutkin, Kolton McCormick, Logan Free and Bryleigh McCormick.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, May 2, 2016 at 5:00 PM in the Chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home. A private interment will be held at a later date at Wellborn Cemetery, Wellborn, FL. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service on Monday from 4-5:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of the Nature Coast.
