Anita Dell West, 73 of Lake City, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2017 at the Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City. She was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas to the late Edward and Prentice Dell Howell. Mrs. West had made her home in Lake City since 1973 having moved here from Oxford, Mississippi. Mrs. West was a registered nurse for many years in North Florida with 25 of those years at the Lake City Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She was a full time golfer and enjoyed raising orchids, reading, spending time at her mountain home in Waynesville, NC and being with her grandchildren. Mrs. West was a member of the Orchard Community Church in Lake City.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry West, Lake City; two daughters, Denise Stanford (Chris Norcia), Jacksonville and Brandy Brim (Charles), Lake City; one sister, Karen Parrish (Pat), High Springs; three grandchildren, Lilly, Bre and Parker Brim all of Lake City; and two nieces, Kathy Vincenti (Paul), Orlando and Kristi Parrish, Atlanta.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 6:00 PM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Eddie Blalock officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service from 5-6:00 PM in the chapel. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center at 6037 W US Hwy 90, Lake City, FL 32055.
