Alfred Agnew

Today we celebrate the life of Alfred Agnew, 77, who passed away on February 6, 2016 at Haven Hospice in Lake City, Florida.  He was born on September 6, 1938 in Waterbury Connecticut to the late Alfred and Adel Agnew.  Alfred is predeceased by his companion of over 20 years, Jane Gedney.

 He is survived by his daughters Donna Smith of Lake City, Florida and Kathleen (David) Sanjurjo of Johnstown, New York; his grandchildren include granddaughters Amanda (Terry) McClendon of Lake City, Florida and Abigail Sanjurjo of Johnstown, New York, two grandsons, Cameron (Sara) Agnew of Johnstown, New York and Stephen (Caitlyn) Savage stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, as well as two great granddaughters, Sarah Baurle and Eva-Nicole McClendon of Lake City, Florida.  He is also survived by his siblings; Thomas (Freda) Agnew of Palmdale, California, Lee Martin of Knox, New York, Linda (Richard) Wigger of Savannah, Georgia, Chris Agnew of Sharon Springs, New York and Scott Agnew of Knox, New York. Other survivors include his nieces, nephews and cousins. Alfred had many others he looked upon as his grandchildren and children that he held dear.

Alfred spent over twenty years as a machinist at General Electric in Schenectady, New York prior to becoming a bus driver.  He began driving coach tour buses before driving school buses for several different school districts. Al, as he was most commonly known, enjoyed wood working, bingo, camping, yard work, and traveling.  He was outgoing, never meeting a stranger.   Crazy Al will be missed, may he rest in peace!
