Abigail "Abby" Markham

Abigail “Abby” Kersey Markham, 29 of Lake City, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville with her family by her side.  She was born in Yuma, Arizona and was raised in Lake City.  Abby was a graduate of Columbia High School class of 2006 and she had made her career as a Registered Nurse.  She was a Christian by faith and enjoyed dancing, being outdoors, fishing, camping and doing crafts.  Abby was an avid Florida Gator fan, loved spending time with her family and friends and was never in a hurry.  She was preceded in death by her father, Mark Kerekes, her maternal grandparents, Mike and Jean Mangham and cousins, Robert and Wayne.

Survivors include her mother, Marion Markham, Lake City; four sisters, Jewel Corrao (David), Jacksonville, Erin Markham, Lake City, Gladys Kerekes and Becky Kerekes both of Arizona; one brother, Will Kerekes, Arizona; her companion, Jimmy Brown, Lake City; maternal aunts and uncles, Al Hardy (Marfie), Lake City, Bobby Domme, Albuquerque, NM, K.C. Hardy (Robin), Tucson, AZ, Roni Schroeder (David), New Plymouth, ID, Jewel Pope (Greg), Lake City and Robin Slemp (Scotty), Evans, GA; her nephew, Jackson Corrao, Jacksonville; numerous cousins, Brandi (Tim), Alaina, James, Dustin (Christie), Pauline (Chris), Danee, Sarah (Jerred), Chris, Casey (Brooke), Reesie, McK, Michael (Lauren), Michelle (Tyler), Madison, Miles, Kelli and Preston.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Russell Taylor officiating.  Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be from 1-1:45 PM on Sunday prior to the service.  A drop by Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Saturday evening starting at 6:00 PM at Christ Central Ministries in the Bistro.
